Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Plant – Vance, Ala.
CHALLENGE: Vance, Ala., is subjected to the heat and humidity that blankets the South in spring, summer and early fall. That climate can take a rapid toll on corrosion-prone metal, such as the steel that was used to construct the original external air handling units for Mercedes-Benz’s automotive manufacturing plant.
Allison Transmission Heat Treat Plant Air Handling
CHALLENGE: Allison Transmission encountered significant challenges in air handling for one of its manufacturing facilities. The company wanted to replace the air handler serving a heat treat plant that produced hybrid transmissions for the U.S. military. However, the environment for the air handling units was caustic, causing galvanized steel air handling units to degrade and lose performance.
