Indiana University Auxiliary Library

CHALLENGE: The Indiana Auxiliary Library houses up to $1 billion worth of artifacts, including a Gutenberg Bible, valued at $10 million. Upgrading air handling for the library was paramount to ensuring these valuable pieces of history were preserved for generations to come.

SOLUTION: Air Enterprises provided air handling units that work in conjunction with an air-cooled condensing system on the library’s roof. The air handler for Indiana Auxiliary Library included gas heat and a desiccant wheel to ensure proper levels of humidity.

RESULTS: Air Enterprises air handling solution for the library successfully delivered 50°F air, with relative humidity of 30°F. This will maintain the library’s temperature and humidity tolerances year round to preserve the quality of its valuable artifacts.
